Do you offer an historic walking tour of your campus?

  • Rating: No Rating
I'm interested in pitching a story to a national news outlet on historic walking tours of campus that colleges offer to the public.  For three years, the University of Vermont, founded in 1791, has been offering a weekly, free historic tour during the summer and fall. It's led by a terrific emeritus professor and is informative, entertaining, and very popular.  I wonder if others offer such tours. If so, I'd like to pitch a story that identified a number of tours -- ours and others --  to the travel editor of a major outlet.  If you offer a tour and would like to be included in my pitch, could you send me some background information? The address for a web site providing details on the tour would be ideal.

For information on UVM's tour, see this very good story in the Boston Globe:  http://www.boston.com/travel/explorene/vermont/articles/2008/08/10/...

Or visit our web site, here:  http://www.uvm.edu/about_uvm/visiting/?Page=historic_tour.html

Thanks.  Jeff Wakefield, Associate Communications Director, University of Vermont
